To do this, go to multiplayer as before and this time scroll down to the Custom Games option. When you are there, just turn on your second controller and press X on PS5 or your corresponding button on other platforms. This is very simply to do too, as you just have to start by going to multiplayer’s main menu. This step is required since the account you’ll use for the split-screen will also use your PS+ membership to connect to Black Ops Cold War’s servers. In its current state, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does not extend the screen all the way to the edge resulting in black bars on both sides. Split-screen has been a staple of the console gaming experience for years, and the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fails to provide a solution frustrates many fans. As players try and force split-screen gameplay within the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War engine, the system seems to only go from bad to worse with every fix. ![]() While Infinity Ward seems to handle it relatively well, it seems that Activision is not demanding uniform features and quality across its games. This has become one of many titles developed by Treyarch that have fallen short in regards to split-screen accessibility. From graphics not rendering properly to players disappearing completely, the title has yet to master one of the simplest systems in console gaming. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War split-screen gameplay has a multitude of problems involved with it. RELATED: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - Ways It Can Still Improve ![]() Despite all of the game's advancements, playing with friends using any split-screen features is often near impossible. Despite this, there is a dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community that relies on split-screen within each Call of Duty title. Despite this, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War falls dreadfully short in its ability to allow split-screen gameplay.įor many fans, this is a minor problem with the title as online play now dominates the multiplayer space. Beholder dnd 5e monster manual entry7/22/2023 Their rays are a lot simpler than that of a "full" beholder, and do elemental damage of the same type as one of the types used by their parent. Like all beholders, they bite in melee and fire eye rays with a maximum range of 10. They have a flight speed of 6, darkvision, and all-around vision (which means they can't be flanked). In either case they'd be very aware of their fragility and would try to stay mobile, spread out, and away from the reach of the PCs.īeholder spawn are Medium Aberrant Magical Beasts, and Level 15 Minion Artillery. Or perhaps they're banding together for survival, hoping to last long enough to be the first to reach full size and devour the rest of their siblings. You might find them alongside their parents. These are beholders at the start of their life-cycle, very young and comparatively weak but already quite smart and evil. In either case, the result of that process could be represented by this Beholder Spawn stat block. The MM3 just says that the means of beholder reproduction are best left unknown. Everything it introduces would be packaged into the Monster Vault as well and we already looked at that lore here.ĭ&D 5th Edition would introduce that cool bit where beholders reproduce asexually through nightmares. There's no new "general" lore in this entry. They're apparently too iconic to leave out! In this entry, we get spooky. Pre-orders for the stand-alone book - and for digital platforms such as Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, and D&D Beyond - are available now, with delivery set for May 17.Beholders appear in every 4e Monster Manual and also in the Monster Vault. In other instances, the team has simply reworked a monster’s powers, skills, and traits altogether. ![]() Crawford and his team at Wizards of the Coast said they redesigned some monsters extensively, creating multiple combat options to allow them to truly live up to their powerful CR. “We’ve gotten pretty consistent feedback since the release of the core books back in 2014 that a number of our monsters, in many circumstances, just felt a bit too weak - like they were punching below the challenge rating.”Ĭhallenge rating (CR) is an easy-to-use indicator of a monster’s relative strength. ![]() “Many of these monsters, especially the higher challenge ratings ones, are far more dangerous than they were the last time they appeared in print,” Crawford said during a preview event. It’s the most monsters to be published in one book since the 5th edition Monster Manual and, according to lead rules designer Jeremy Crawford, many of them should “terrify” veteran players. It gathers together more than 30 different playable races for the first time in one book, while also presenting more than 250 monsters from across the D&D multiverse. Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse is the newest book for Dungeons & Dragons, one that will help to build a bridge between the 5th edition of the game and what comes next.

New world trade center7/22/2023 The supertall structure has the identical title as the North Tower of the original World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. 1 WTC is the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the sixth-tallest in the world. The combination of natural light and sculptural form give dignity and beauty to the building’s lower levels and pedestrian walkways, and provide New York City with a kind of public space it has not previously enjoyed. One World Trade Center (also known as One World Trade, 1 WTC, or Freedom Tower) is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Openings in the PATH Hall floor provide a spatial connection between the platforms and the ceiling of the PATH hall so that arriving commuters enter into a great space directly upon detraining. Below the PATH Hall are four PATH train platforms providing service to Hoboken and Newark, New Jersey. The PATH Hall and Transit Hall are linked below the #1 subway line which provides visual connectivity from the extreme east and west points of the WTC Transportation Hub. The clear spans of the space facilitate comfort, orientation and enhanced security. Similar to the Transit Hall and Oculus, the PATH Hall is defined by a series of parallel steel ribs that, in this case, provide an undulating ceiling plane 55 ft above the floor. ![]() West of the subway, and eight feet below the lower concourse is the PATH Hall, which provides ticketing, fare control and other services for access to PATH trains. The site is bisected by the #1 line under Greenwich Street. The column-free elliptical space is approximately 350 ft long, by 115 ft across at its widest point. The lower concourse is approximately 34 ft below street level, and 160 ft below the apex of the operable skylight. Escalators, elevators and stairs provide access to the upper and lower retail concourse levels. Entry stair landings cantilever over the large below grade piazza called the Transit Hall. Santiago Calatrava speaks of light as a structural element in the WTC Transportation Hub, saying that the building is supported by 'columns of light.'Īccess into the building is provided from Church and Greenwich Streets through the east and west arch abutments of the Oculus. At night, the illuminated building will serve as a lantern in its neighborhood. This Oculus allows natural daylight to flood into the WTC Transportation Hub filtering down through all levels eventually to the PATH train platform, approximately 60 ft below the street. Although suggestive of motifs from many traditions (the Byzantine mandorla, the wings of cherubim above the Ark of the Covenant, or the sheltering wings on Egyptian canopic urns), the form may be summed up, according to Santiago Calatrava, by the image of a bird released from a child's hands. ![]() Between the arches, a 330 ft operable skylight frames a slice of the New York sky, and opens on temperate days as well as annually on September 11. ![]() The rafters spring from two 350 ft arches flanking the project's central axis. This treatment of the site creates a kind of pause amid the dense commercial towers and links the procession of green spaces extending from City Hall Park to the churchyard of St. Calatrava's first major design decision for the WTC Transportation Hub was to conceive the building at grade, the 'Oculus', as a free standing structure and situate it along the southern edge of Daniel Libeskind's 'Wedge of Light' plaza.

Piezo lighter assembly7/22/2023 ![]() You can even leave a Zippo burning like a candle. Unlike disposable sparkwheel lighters, a Zippo wick will stay lit until you cut off the oxygen supply by closing the lid. This creates a spark that ignites fluid in a wick. They work by spinning a sparkwheel against a flint inside the Zippo. Zippo lighters have been around for nearly 100 years. Not reliable – the ignition often fails.Don’t work well in windy or wet conditions.Read about how to start a fire with no matches. In a SHTF situation, you can use an empty sparkwheel light to create a flame. However, because they are so cheap, most people treat them as disposable. Note that many plastic sparkwheel lighters are actually refillable (see how to refill a BIC lighter). The spark ignites the fuel and produces a flame. Pressing down on the “fork” (the plastic lever below the sparkwheel) opens a valve so fuel can be released. When you spin the wheel with enough speed, it rubs on the flint and creates a spark. These are plastic lighters that have a wheel made out of serrated steel. For example, utility lighters can also be spark ignition or electric arc lighters. ![]() Note that there is a lot of crossover in these types of lighters.

Fishers island fog horn7/22/2023 ![]() I hope that loved ones will point the way to safety when the upcoming challenges may be out of my vision or closer than they appear. I pray that I will rely on God to captain my ride through treacherous waters. Our trust in others and resources to keep us above water and from crashing into approaching rocks is demanded when the fog is thick. How often do deadlines, commitments and conflicting priorities cloud our minds to the point our mind is foggy? Sometimes the need to slow to island pace is the answer to juggling all that life throws in and from all directions. Finally, the lighthouse shrunk from sight. Admittedly I was both curious and confused why only certain islands merited a lighthouse and others didn’t. Pondering the lighthouse, I was impressed that everyone must equally be drawn to the beauty and peace it displays. There was a peace that overtook any remaining anxieties. With the shoreline returning to our view soon now the awareness of an operating lighthouse was revealed. The heavy fog slowly diminished with the duration of the trip. Proximity to safety quickly feels stolen, and the realization grows of dependence upon the boat along with the talents and available tools of the crew. As the ride progressed and the shoreline faded from view, one soon loses all sense of direction. As we moved through the waters and the fog, approaching sights would briefly appear only to vanish back into obscurity at equal speed. Consequently, the ferry’s fog horn bellowed frequently. The return from the island today started with fog smothered everything in view. The risk today appears smaller than the promise of a worthy reward. There is risk each opportunity the boat leaves the harbor, but all willingly accept the risk to do the work that is so loved. Most gladly leave the land in hopes of landing a big check from this day’s voyage. Expenses seem to rise twice as fast as the market prices they receive from their efforts. The lobster fishers rise early and work long hours in hopes of securing a profit. Such delicacies are the lifeblood of the islands and their inhabitants. These obstacles appear to be strategically placed to protect the ocean’s bounty of red-bugs that inhabit the depths. During a vast part of each year an untold number of men and women rise early to face the water and its obstacles. Lobster is an inescapable thread through the local economy. Others enjoy these benefits and willingly accept work opportunities when they present. Some visit to enjoy cooler weather, amazing beauty, the company of genuine and welcome people or the relaxed pace of taking in each day. The gulf is infectious for both leisure and work. The ones that brave the four seasons have an inner strength and will to overcome the unique challenges associated with living in a remote location. Some live there year-round while others invade for a portion of the summertime. For those on the island, they love the beauty of the Gulf of Maine and the pace of island life. The people are rich in tradition and community. The fertile waters of Maine are home to many. We saw the buoys marking lobster pots below, small rock islands popping out for respite to birds and seals, and the quant vacation houses along the trailing shoreline. Monday afternoon was beautifully clear allowing passengers to see great distances. The rides were the same route in opposite directions but, otherwise, completely different. All it takes is a trip on the ferry or a quick boat ride (if you or a friend have a boat, which is common) to nearby New London, Noank or Stonington.I recently experienced two ferry rides off the southern coast of Maine. If you’re looking for shopping, restaurants and an array of entertainment options, then you may want to plan to take trips to the mainland on occasion – Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Mystic Seaport, USS Nautilus Museum, the Mystic Marinelife Aquarium and countless dining options abound just three miles to the north in Connecticut.
